Enter the fantastic world of the Helicopter
The first attempt that hovered, albeit tethered, was built and test flown by Paul Cornu in 1907
 |
The engine in front of Paul is a Levavvaseur "Antoinette" V8 engine. The same make and model of engine that Hubert Latham used in his Antoinette Monoplane, as seen in the opening scene of
"Those Magnificent Men In their Flying Machines"
Needless to say that Paul's attempt failed when he realised he had no way of effectively controlling his helicopter in any other direction.
Luckily you don't have to build yours from scratch

Not to be confused with other Mini Remote Control Helicopters, this amazing Gyro Zoomer can now be easily controlled in all directions with such precision you'll be left scratching your head as to how it's possible! Even total beginners can get up in the air and buzzing around straight out of the box, and it's made from a unique 'crash-resistant' material so it's more than capable of withstanding a few crashes while you master the controls.
Just in case you do have a total wipe out, each helicopter comes with 2 spare back propellers and main blade set to make your pit stop as short as possible. For extreme crashes, a handy extra spare pack is also available. Click on the My Favourite Helicopters Tab over on the right now for more details of my top favourite Gyro controlled helicopters.
